On the 20th of June 2024, the Center of Creative and Social Practices, Bulgaria had an inspiring online focus group meeting, centered around supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). In this first meeting we were pleased to get to know nine experts, sharing their thoughts, their daily challenges and their achievements.

The main focus of the meeting was exchanging best practices from the use of digital tools by Bulgarian educators for better and productive work with young people with SEN.

✨ Highlights of the Meeting:

Challenges in Bulgaria: We heard what are the key challenges the experts meet on a daily basis with their work and how they implement the digital instruments in order to teach young people with SEN.
Needs : Participants identified several problematic issues, including lack of resources, need for more specialized training for educators, and the importance of mental health support for both educators and learners. Innovative Solutions: The group brainstormed innovative solutions such as creating peer support networks, implementing more inclusive teaching strategies, and advocating for policy changes. The POWER UP project is focusing straight on those solutions! Community Building: The meeting fostered a strong sense of community and collaboration, emphasizing that together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for young people with SEN.
